Weather Update
Good morning, fabulous Fiji! It’s Friday, January 9th, 2026, and Mother Nature has decided to throw a little party in our skies – and it looks like it might get a bit wet! We have a lovable trough of low pressure rolling in from the west, bringing along some fluffy clouds and showers that might just spill over into your plans.
For the Fiji group today, expect a fair share of clouds and some drizzles here and there, especially over Nadi-Lautoka-Ba, Tavua-Rakiraki, Tailevu North, and some eastern provinces like Macuata and Cakaudrove, not to mention our island pals Yasawa and Mamanuca. Take that umbrella, because you might need it! Just a heads up: isolated heavy showers could pop up and even bring a few thunderstorms that might cause your low-lying area to look more like a swimming pool.
Now, if you find yourself elsewhere, fear not! The weather will likely cooperate and remain fine for most of the day, with just a chance of some afternoon or evening showers crashing the party.
As for the winds, they’re on moderate easterly-duty today, while the sea remains moderate as well—perfect for lightly splashing around but maybe not for those with a phobia of water.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the weather appears to be playing a similar tune. Expect cloudy periods and showers serenading Navua, Suva, and lots of other places that rhyme with -ua! Isolated afternoon thunderstorms might make an appearance and could pack a punch or two, so keep an eye out.
Daily temperature ranges remain comfy, hovering between 24 to 33 degrees—just right for getting cozy or getting drenched, depending on your weather preference!
So, whether you’re splashing in puddles, hiding from the rain, or simply enjoying some overcast romance, stay safe and may your umbrellas be ever in your favor!
