Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, at the bright hour of 5:30 AM on March 2, 2026.

Warning! Break out your umbrellas, because a HEAVY RAIN WARNING is on full blast for the Fiji Group. Flash floods are making a splash all over Viti Levu, so keep your rubber ducks handy!

If your neighborhood is prone to flooding, be alert. The Nakauvadra River in Rakiraki Town, Yaqara River, Tavua River, and the flood plains of Ba River are all on high alert. And don’t forget the Nadi, Nawaka, and Tuva Rivers in Nadroga—let’s hope they don’t get any ideas about overflowing!

Also, we’ve got STRONG WIND WARNINGS for the Western Division, Yasawas, Mamanuca Islands, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti Groups, Macuata, Bua, Taveuni, and their island pals. Think of it as Mother Nature auditioning for a hurricane-themed talent show.

What’s the forecast looking like today? For the Western Division (including those star-studded Yasawa and Mamanuca islands), expect robust northwest winds making their entrance at about 45 km/h, with some impressively gusty winds hitting 75 km/h. If you’re headed out, you might want to lean in a bit—not too much wind resistance, after all!

Moreover, for the rest of Fiji, brace yourself for some precipitation drama—occasional heavy rain and possible thundershowers are coming to a sky near you. On the brighter side, at least the garden will be thriving!

Now, looking ahead to Tuesday, we’re still playing the rain game with isolated heavy falls and a couple of mischievous thunderstorms joining the fun. Winds will remain moderately gusty, and the seas will be moderately rough—perfect for those hearty sea folk who love a challenge.

Here’s a peek at your local weather:
