Fiji Weather Update: Trough North of Fiji Brings Showers, Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across Northern Division and Eastern Viti Levu

Weather Update

Good day, weather enthusiasts! Gather ’round as we dive into the whimsical world of Fiji’s forecast. It appears that a rather lazy trough of low pressure is hanging out just to the north of Fiji, sipping on a coconut drink and causing some mischief with easterly winds.

From now until midnight tomorrow, expect occasional showers and the elusive isolated thunderstorms – you know, the kind that shows up just when you’ve decided to leave your umbrella at home. Northern Division, including Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and its playful little companions like Cikobia and Qelelevu, will see heavy downpours. So, keep your water wings close!

The clouds have also swarmed over the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu—think Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, and onward up to Tailevu North—preparing their own little surprise showers and thunderstorm action starting later today. Let’s just say, if you feel a raindrop, it might just be the sky’s way of saying hello!

Elsewhere, life will be sunny with just a hint of possibility for some sporadic afternoon showers. Winds from the southeast will add some spice, and seas may get a bit rowdy, so hold onto your hats (or surfboards).

Looking ahead to Sunday, the clouds are set to stick around with occasional showers and perhaps more thunderstorms about the same areas. Overall, we’ve got a mixed bag of weather on the table!

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
The clouds are ready to party. Expect some light showers and the occasional heavyweight downpour later today. High of 29 degrees, because who doesn’t love a good tropic steamer?

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
Fine skies will prevail, but don’t let your guard down! Afternoon or evening showers may crash the party. Today’s a sizzling 32 degrees at max, perfect for a beach day if it cooperates!

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
All clear, for now! But don’t be shy – say hello to those isolated afternoon showers. The mercury will top out at 30 degrees.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Another fine day ahead, with the chance of surprise showers. Let’s aim for a warm 31 degrees!

For Natadradave/Korovou:

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:

For Labasa, Savusavu, and Nabouwalu:

For Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti, and Kadavu:

For Rotuma:

So there you have it, folks! Keep your spirits high, umbrellas near, and enjoy the whimsical dance of all things weather in Fiji!
