Weather Update
Welcome to your daily forecast, where we assure you that no one will need to build an ark just yet. As of this morning, October 22, 2025, a STRONG WIND WARNING is still causing a ruckus across the eastern parts of Kadavu and its tiny friends, the eastern half of Viti Levu (think Sigatoka to Nausori), as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti Groups. Good news for those in Rakiraki, Taveuni, Vanua Levu, and Yasawa though—you’re off the hook!
What’s brewing? A feisty trough of low pressure is hanging around the eastern side of Fiji, still copiously dumping clouds and rain on us—how generous! The moist easterly winds are also doing their part in this extravagant weather show.
So, what can you expect today? Well, prepare for some serious breeze—easterly wind gusts reaching up to 45km/hr across Kadavu and those friendly smaller islands, and the eastern half of Viti Levu. And, if that wasn’t enough to make your hair fly, seas are also looking a bit rough out there, so hold onto your hats!
For those in the land of occasional rain and rumbling thunder over Macuata, Cakaudrove, and southern Bua, don’t leave your umbrellas behind! Expect some heavy falls mixed in with the rain, especially for the interiors of Viti Levu and its fellow islands. Showers will ease up later, but not before reminding you who’s boss!
Tomorrow’s outlook indicates we’ll still be under that moody cloud cover with showers capable of making it rain cats and dogs. Finishing with a dash of thunderstorms for good measure—your plans for sunbathing may need to be shelved, but on the bright side, perfect weather for that indoor chill!
Let’s dive into the specific regions:
**Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Occasional rain along with some attention-seeking thunderstorms. But don’t fret! The downpour will taper off later. Min: 22, Max: 28.
**Nadi / Lautoka / Ba**: Partly cloudy with a sprinkle of afternoon/evening showers and a chance of thunderstorms. Grab your raincoat! Min: 22, Max: 31.
**Sigatoka / Coral Coast**: Similar story—partly cloudy, accompanied by the potential for showers and thunderstorms. Stay alert! Min: 22, Max: 30.
**Tavua/Rakiraki**: Occasional rain and a dramatic thunderstorm actor here too! The rain will soon ease to showers. Min: 22, Max: 31.
**Yasawa/Mamanuca group**: Beautiful yet moody! Expect midday cloudiness with afternoon showers. Min: 22, Max: 30.
**Labasa and Savusavu**: A duet of occasional rain and thunderstorms! Keep those umbrellas handy. Min: 22, Max: 32.
**Rotuma**: Regal with a slight hint of brief showers, but nothing too alarming. Min: 23, Max: 32.
In summary: Weather today might make you reconsider your plans for an umbrella-less outing. But who doesn’t love a good rain dance? Stay safe, stay dry, and keep those smiles coming!
