Weather Report Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 11:55 AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Attention all wind enthusiasts! If you’ve got a kite or just enjoy standing outside with absolutely no plan, you’re in luck! A STRONG WIND WARNING is still graciously waving its flag for the land areas of Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Get ready for those south to southeast winds to strut their stuff with speeds hitting a raucous 45km/hr. It’s enough to make even the most steadfast toupee reconsider its life choices.
Over the rest of the Fiji group, expect some moderate breezes, but don’t get too comfy; they might gust by like they own the place. The seas? Rough… like that friend who insists they’re a better driver when they’ve had one too many – so steer clear if you’re sailing.
Cloudy vibes will be hanging out over Navua, Suva, Nausori, Korovou, Rakiraki, Serua, Namosi, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and the smaller nearby islands. Showers are on the guest list too. Just a heads up: pack an umbrella or find a good overhang – Mother Nature doesn’t care about your hairdo.
While some parts are having a gloomy time, others will be basking in fine weather… but don’t get too attached; isolated afternoon showers might pop by unannounced. Nights are set to be cool, so maybe grab a cozy blanket and a hot cup of your favorite brew—perfect for stargazing while you ponder why your neighbor insists on mowing their lawn at midnight.
For your Thursday forecast, our clouds will continue hanging over the same familiar haunts, still delivering the occasional shower, while other areas will remain deceptively fine. The southeast winds will remain lively, and the seas will still be showing a bit of a temper tantrum.
Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect:
Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect some cloudy periods and showers, with a night that feels like a friendly hug from a cool breeze.
Sigatoka/Coral Coast: You’re in for fine weather, interrupted only by isolated afternoon showers. The night? Delightfully cool.
Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Leaving you with the same fun combo of isolation in the afternoon showers and a cool nighttime embrace.
Tavua/Rakiraki: Just like before, enjoy the fine weather and cool nights with an unexpected afternoon shower.
Natadradave/Korovou: Cloudy with some showers, but hey, it’s cooler at night.
Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Fine weather most of the time with minor afternoon dramas in the form of showers. Cool nights await!
Labasa: A blend of fine weather with a potential for those cheeky afternoon showers and a cool night.
Savusavu: Expect clouds with showers swirling about, bringing cool nights along.
Lau/ Lomaiviti: Buckle up for the winds and some showers, but rest easy in the cool night air.
Kadavu: Fine weather will stroll by with a chance of isolated afternoon showers. Nighttime coolness will join the party!
Rotuma: Strong wind warnings have been tossed out the window, but keep an eye on the occasional showers and possible thunderstorms. It’ll be a wild ride!
So there you have it! Stay breezy, stay cool, and perhaps practice your best impression of a windsurfing champion—safely, of course.
