Alright, folks! It looks like a couple of sneaky troughs of low pressure are hanging out just northwest and east of Fiji. They’ve brought along some cloud cover and showers, and they don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

So, here’s the forecast until the clock strikes midnight tonight:
Prepare for some periodic showers and perhaps a few intimate thunderstorms over Yasawa, Kadavu, and those lovely little islands by the sea! The eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, we’re looking at you, Serua/Namosi, Navua, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, and Ra) along with Cakaudrove and southern Bua will also see some cloudy moments with a splash of rain. And expect isolated heavy downpours that could lead to local flooding.

As we keep things zesty, afternoon thunderstorms are set to roll over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, so don’t be surprised if Mother Nature decides to crank up the volume with some heavy rain! Winds will be breezy, and by breezy, we mean they might gust a bit during those heavy showers. Seas will be moderate, so no need for your sea legs just yet!

Now, what’s cooking for Wednesday? More clouds, more showers, and yes, more isolated thunderstorms. We’re in for another round of potential heavy downpours over the eastern half of Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and nearby islands. If your plans involve a picnic, you might want to pack an umbrella (or two).

Localized downpours may again play coy and lead to flashy flooding in those poor, low-lying areas. Winds will stick around from the east, still a bit gusty when the rain comes pouring down, and seas will remain moderate.

Here’s a sneak preview for various spots across Fiji:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect some dreary clouds and scatterings of rain. Add in a side of afternoon thunderstorms, and you’ve got yourself a nice serving of weather.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Partly cloudy skies invite afternoon or evening showers, and don’t forget the occasional thunderstorms to spice things up!

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: The day will be partly cloudy too, with a hint of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Isn’t it nice when the weather brings guests?

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Get ready for cloudy periods with some showers over Rakiraki. Elsewhere looks partly snug under a blanket of clouds with a chance of rainstorms!

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Occasional showers and some thunder to boot; you might need to dance your way through the rain!

For Labasa: Yup, more of those partly cloudy afternoons with showers and thunderstorms—local heavy falls are expected, so maybe consider canoeing if you venture out!

For Savusavu: You will find clouds paired with showers, and, oh yes, don’t forget those afternoon thunderstorms!

For Lau/Lomaiviti: Get ready for more of those showers and thunderstorms coming your way.

For Kadavu: It’s going to be a repeat of the occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

For Rotuma: The island is feeling the pressure of the trough too! Look for cloud cover and rain creating an atmosphere of cozy indoors, with showers easing up later on.

And to finish off this weather report with a cherry on top, stay dry out there! Mother Nature is definitely in the mood to put on a show.
