Alright, folks, grab your umbrellas and your comfiest rain boots because a moist northeast wind is turning our lovely little islands into a bit of a soggy adventure! Just when you thought you could catch a break, a trough of low pressure is making its way over from the west, promising some cloud cover and showers starting Thursday — talk about a dramatic entrance!
Here’s the scoop for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow:
For the Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Ra-Naitasiri areas, Eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Northern Bua, Kadavu, Taveuni, and the little islands in between, it’s going to be a cloudy day with some showers popping in for a surprise visit. Don’t pack away the thunderbolts just yet – afternoon or evening thunderstorms with a chance of heavy falls are also joining the party. Tomorrow? Expect more of those dreary clouds and a drizzle of brief showers to set the mood.
Now, for the other party-goers in Fiji, you’ll be basking in mostly fine weather, though those sneaky afternoon or evening showers may crash the party. And guess what? That thunderstorm you’ve been looking for? It’s coming in with some heavy downpours. So, if you’re in a low-lying or flood-prone spot, keep an eye out – our local weather may throw a surprise splash sale on a flash flooding event! The winds will be tapping their toes at a moderate northeasterly rhythm, while the seas will be holding steady.
Looking ahead to Thursday: Brace yourselves for cloudy spells sprinkled with showers across the Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Lau, Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and the cozy smaller islands. In other regions, expect an encore of partly cloudy skies and those cheeky afternoon or evening showers bringing their thunderous pals. Heavy falls may encore, so if you see that flash flood sign, just remember, it’s not a performance, it’s real!
Here’s how it looks by city:
**Navua / Suva / Nausori:** Cloudy with showers and those enthusiastic thunderstorms later. Tomorrow is more of the same.
**Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:** Get ready for a sunny day until those notorious afternoon or evening showers come along. Thunderstorms and heavy downpours might show up uninvited!
**Sigatoka / Coral Coast:** Living the fine weather dream until the afternoon showers and thunderstorms turn your beach day into a wet and wild affair.
**Tavua / Rakiraki:** Some clouds and brief showers for Rakiraki, while it’s fine with a twist of afternoon showers for the rest of the area. Repeat for Thursday!
**Yasawa / Mamanuca group:** Expect clear skies, but don’t be surprised if those well-known afternoon downpours drop in unannounced.
**Labasa:** Mainly fine until those evening thunderstorms crash in with heavy showers.
**Savusavu:** Today, cloudy with some mischievous thunderstorms. Tomorrow? Just brief showers to keep things lively.
**Lau and Lomaiviti group:** Watch for clouds and some showers today, and more of the same tomorrow.
**Kadavu:** Same storyline here too – clouds and a few showers along with those cheeky thunderstorms.
**Rotuma:** Breezy days with clouds and showers heading your way. Keep holding onto that umbrella, just in case!
That’s it for today, folks! Don’t forget to stay hydrated and potentially invest in a kayak if things get too wet out there!
