Situation: A weak trough of low pressure lies over the group. Associated cloud, showers and rain are expected to affect parts of the country till later tomorrow. Meanwhile, an east to southeast wind flow prevails Fiji. It’s not all gloom—just a few showers and plenty of chances to test the umbrella, so bring a smile and your best rain dance.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– Occasional rain and isolated heavy falls over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri and Ra. Rain easing to showers from tomorrow. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
– Occasional showers over southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Showers gradually easing from tomorrow.
– Elsewhere, partly cloudy with isolated showers especially in the afternoon, evening or overnight. Isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms possible.
– Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds.
– Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for Wednesday: Cloudy periods with some showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Cakaudrove and Southern Bua provinces, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
