Weather Bulletin

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30pm on Friday, July 11, 2025

Situation: It looks like the winds have decided to do the cha-cha, flowing in from the east to southeast across the islands. However, hold onto your sun hats, folks! A low-pressure trough is strutting its stuff and plans to spice things up with some clouds and rain starting late Sunday.

Forecast until midnight for the Fiji group: Expect a mix of partly cloudy skies with surprise showers in the usual suspects: Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and their tiny island buddies, Taveuni, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Elsewhere, the weather is mainly fine, so you might as well host a barbecue (just don’t forget an umbrella). And don’t forget those cool nights — grab a sweater before you dive into your dreams!

Winds will be moderate to fresh from the east to southeast, so don’t be surprised if you find your hair blowing around like you’re in a shampoo commercial. The seas? Well, they might get a tad rough, but isn’t that just a daily adventure?

Outlook for Sunday: It’s pretty much a copy-paste of Saturday with partly cloudy skies and brief showers hovering around Eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Lau, and the Lomaiviti group, with a sprinkle of rain and thunderstorms creeping in from the west later in the night. The winds will be moderate from the east to northeast, and yes, it’s still cool at night – perfect for snuggling up under a blanket.

Now let’s break it down by region:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: You’re looking at partly cloudy skies with brief showers to keep things interesting. Cool at night, so if you plan a midnight snack run, don’t forget that light jacket!

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Mainly fine weather means you can bask in the sun (while avoiding sunburn, of course). Cool nights are upon you too!

For Coral Coast/Sigatoka: A sprinkle of brief showers in the mix and cool nights. Don’t leave those sandals behind when you head out!

For Tavua/Rakiraki: You’ll see some clouds and brief showers, but mainly, things will be fine elsewhere. It’ll be cool at night — perfect for some marshmallow roasting!

For Natadradave/Korovou: Similar forecasts with a dash of brief showers and cool nights, hinting that an umbrella could end up being your best mate.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Mainly fine! These islands are throwing a sunny party all night, just remember that rain seems determined to crash the party later on!

For Labasa: Sunshine and cool nights all around. Sounds like a great recipe for a leisurely day!

For Savusavu: Expect partly cloudy conditions with brief showers. Cool at night — so plan your stargazing accordingly!

For Lau and Lomaiviti Group: A party of partly cloudy weather and brief showers awaits. Bring that cozy blanket for a cool night.

For Kadavu: You guessed it — partly cloudy with showers making a guest appearance, and that chill at night is perfect for some cocoa.

For Rotuma: Hold onto your hats! A strong wind warning is still blowing around, and things are a bit cloudy with some showers, plus the chance for isolated thunderstorms keeps things lively.

So, whether you’re preparing for a laid-back beach day or bracing for a shower-filled night, enjoy the weather adventure that awaits!
