Situation: It seems our weather is getting cozy with a moist east to northeast wind flow, while a sneaky trough of low pressure is making its way toward us from the southwest. Brace yourselves, folks! You may want to keep your umbrellas handy as cloud and showers are gearing up to crash the party in the southern regions starting Monday.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
For Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Ra-Naitasiri areas, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove provinces, Kadavu, Taveuni, and a few of those charming smaller islands, expect occasional showers that might just invite isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls. Yes, localised heavy falls could bring about flash flooding in the low lying areas. So, keep your boat paddles nearby just in case!

For the rest of Fiji:
Plan on having some cloudy periods joined by a few showers. Those showers could become heavy in the afternoon or evening, very much like that one relative who overstays their welcome at family gatherings—surprising thunderstorms included! Localised heavy falls could also show up for a surprise flood in the low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Oh, and let’s not forget the warmth! You will feel hot and humid as temperatures soar to a sweltering 32-35 degrees Celsius. Try to stay cool unless you like the feeling of having your own personal sauna.

Expect moderate northeasterly winds, but those gusty conditions might decide to join in the fun during heavy falls and thunderstorms. Seas will be moderate, so hold onto your hats!

Outlook for Monday:
The forecast is serving up occasional rain with a side of thunderstorms that’ll develop over most parts of the country later in the day. Moderate easterly winds will slowly transform into northerly breezes. The seas? A little moody, sitting at moderate to rough.

Here’s the skinny for specific regions:

Occasional showers with those notorious isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls are on the menu.
