Greetings, fellow Fijians! It looks like our tropical paradise is hosting a little humidity party and everyone’s invited! We’ve got moist east to northeast breezes blowing over us, and a shy trough of low pressure creeping in from the southwest, ready to make its grand entrance. So grab your umbrellas and hold onto your hats, because showers (and a little drama) are on the way, especially for our southern regions starting Monday.

Forecast until midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
In the Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Ra, Naitasiri, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Taveuni, and the lovely little islands nearby, get ready for a splash or two! We’re talking occasional showers, with some rather enthusiastic isolated thunderstorms that might just think they’re the stars of the show! Localized heavy downpours could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so keep an eye out for any impromptu water features in your neighborhood.

For the rest of Fiji:
Expect a mix of cloudy periods and afternoon showers. The showers will likely turn heavy later in the day, maybe even bringing some thunder to keep things exciting. And yes, localized heavy falls could lead to flash flooding in areas that are a bit prone to an aquatic adventure.

Stay cool, because it’s going to be hot and humid with temperatures soaring to a steamy 31-34 degrees Celsius.

We have moderate easterly winds in the mix – but don’t be surprised if they decide to take it up a notch in areas of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Just remember, moderate seas mean not all boats will be rockin’ their hardest.

Outlook for Monday:
Grab your raincoats because occasional rain and a sprinkle of thunderstorms will be making their presence felt over many areas later in the day. The winds are set to turn from moderate easterly to a bit more northern, which is just the wind’s way of keeping things fresh. Moderate to rough seas will also be taking place, so remind your boats to sit tight!

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
Showers are on the agenda, accompanied by some electrifying isolated thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
Expect cloudy periods with afternoon showers — and yes, you guessed it, some of those showers might get heavy, complete with a side of thunder.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
More clouds and a few showers are coming your way, with possible heavy afternoon downpours and thunder.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
There’s rain in the forecast with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms getting a bit overzealous.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
Expect cloudy conditions graced by a few showers, which might just decide to get heavy as the day winds down…along with some thunder.

For Labasa and Savusavu:
You guessed it! Occasional showers, plus some heavy falls and thunder to give it that dramatic flair.

For Lau and Lomaiviti group and Kadavu:
You’re in for a treat with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms moving in.

For Rotuma:
Keep an eye out as easterly winds sweep across, bringing cloudy periods along with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms for added entertainment.

Outlook for Monday for all:
Rain and a sprinkle of thunderstorms are expected, so prepare your rain dance and maybe some indoor activities just in case!

Stay cool, stay dry, and don’t forget your umbrellas!
