Here we go, folks! A sluggish trough of low pressure has decided to set up camp over the eastern parts of our sunny paradise, bringing along its weather pals—clouds and showers—who will be crashing the party for the next few days.

So, what can our beloved Fiji group expect until midnight tomorrow? Well, if you’re in Lau and the Lomaiviti groups, get ready for sporadic showers and the occasional theatrical performance in the form of thunderstorms. Kadavu and the nearby little islands are invited to this soggy get-together as well.

Over on the eastern half of Viti Levu—yes, that’s Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, and Ra—you can expect cloudy periods sprinkled generously with showers. Cakaudrove and the southern part of Bua are also set to join in on the overcast fun.

Now, don’t fret too much if you’re elsewhere. You might enjoy some fine weather, but just be ready for those pesky afternoon or evening showers trying to crash your outdoor plans. And brace yourselves for some heavy afternoon thunderstorms gracing Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, which could lead to our version of a water park adventure in low-lying areas.

The winds will be moderately easterly, and the seas will be moderate too, just like your favorite lukewarm bath.

Looking ahead to Wednesday: Expect the same fiesta of occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms across Lau, the Lomaiviti groups, and the eastern half of Viti Levu, as well as Kadavu and its little friends. Fine weather will break for a brief visit elsewhere, but be on the lookout for those afternoon thunderstorms. And yes, I have to remind you—localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding, so keep an eye on those low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Here’s what’s brewing in your neck of the woods:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
Cloudy with sporadic showers, followed by thunderstorm entertainment in the afternoon.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
Most days will be fine, with a cameo of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Expect some persistent heavy rain that might disrupt your Netflix binge plan.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
It’s mostly fine, just beware of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms that could have their own heavy rain story to tell.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Fine weather most of the day, but there could be some isolated squalls during the afternoon or evening.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
A serenely fine day until those shy afternoon showers and thunderstorms decide to show up.

For Labasa:
Expect fine weather with sneaky afternoon showers and thunderstorms making an appearance.

For Savusavu:
Bring your umbrellas—cloudy periods and heavy thunderstorms are on the schedule this afternoon.

For Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu:
Occasional showers and those little electric thunder shows are your weather buddies for the next few days.

For Rotuma:
Fine weather will wash over the island, with the occasional brief shower and moderate to fresh easterly winds. The sea might get a little hostile, so be careful if you’re planning to test the waters.

And remember folks, it’s all part of the beautiful adventure that is Fijian weather! Stay dry and keep smiling!
