Weather Bulletin
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 5:30 am on Wednesday the 23rd of July 2025.
Let’s face it, Mother Nature seems to have a bit of a mood swing today. A trough of low pressure is lounging over the country, probably sipping on a coconut drink, while gradually drifting eastwards. So, expect some cloud cover and showers to crash the outdoor plans across the Fiji group until later today. The easterly winds are just adding to the drama!
For your forecast leading up to midnight, get ready for some occasional rain and a few isolated thunderstorms, particularly over Kadavu and the neighboring islands, as well as the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups. If you’re in the western and interior parts of Viti Levu, like Sigatoka, Momi, Nadi, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki, grab your umbrellas! Elsewhere, the occasional rain will sneak up on you too.
There’s a chance of isolated heavy downpours, which could lead to some unexpected flash floods in low-lying areas, so keep those sandals handy for a quick getaway! The rain will start to wind down from the west as the day progresses. Expect moderate winds shifting from northeasterly to southerly later on, making sure your hair has its own wind styling contest.
Looking ahead to Thursday, prepare for some cloudy periods with a side of showers over places like Sigatoka, Korolevu, Serua, Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Kadavu and its nearby islands, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Eastern Macuata, Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti. Meanwhile, some regions will be basking in mainly fine weather. Don’t forget to bundle up a little at night, because it’s going to be cool out there!
