Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:49 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2025
Situation: Ah, the weather gods are up to their old tricks again! A mischievous trough of low pressure has decided to hang out over the eastern part of our beloved islands until tomorrow, bringing along a few clouds and, you guessed it, rain.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow:
Get your raincoats ready, folks! Expect a splash of occasional rain with some isolated heavy downpours over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and our smaller friends in Lau and Lomaiviti. Meanwhile, the Yasawa group, Sigatoka, and the rest of Vanua Levu will be experiencing cloudy periods with showers. So, if you’re planning on drying your laundry today, you might want to rethink that strategy!
For those of you elsewhere, things are shaping up to be relatively fine—just be prepared for some isolated afternoon or evening sprinkles. And don’t forget your hats, because moderate to fresh easterly winds are taking center stage today. Oh, and for those who enjoy a bit of adventure, seas will be moderate to rough.
Outlook for Monday: More fun in the rain! We’ll see occasional showers over the same areas, with isolated heavy falls trying to pencil in their performance. Everywhere else? Expect a lovely fine day marred only by the possibility of an afternoon or evening shower. And the nights? Well, bring a light blanket because they’re gearing up to be cool!
For Navua/Suva/Nausori:
Prepare yourself for occasional rain with a chance of heavy falls. Don’t forget your umbrella, because Monday has recurring showers in the lineup. Nights will be cool—perfect for snuggling or, you know, binge-watching your favorite shows.
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
Cloudy periods are bringing some showers your way, and the possibility of heavy falls is looming above. But fear not! Monday promises to return the fine days, aside from a slight chance of those pesky afternoon or evening showers. Nights will be cool too!
For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba:
The clouds are rolling in, bringing some showers particularly in the afternoon or evening, because what’s a little rain without a dramatic entrance? Monday will bring back sunnier vibes proven by its fine forecast (with minor shower interruptions). And remember, cool nights are in style right now!
For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Here comes occasional rain and maybe some heavy falls for Rakiraki! The rest of you will enjoy the fine weather with just a dash of afternoon or evening showers. And guess what? Cool nights are still trending!
For Natadradave/Korovou:
Occasional rain is your forecast, complete with some heavy falls. Brace yourself for a repeat performance on Monday with those occasional showers, because who can resist a bit of drama? Cool nights are certainly on the menu.
For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:
Expect cloudy periods with some showers and potential heavy falls. And while the rest may be experiencing fun showers, the cool nights are definitely here to stay! Monday looks promising, though, with fine weather anticipated.
For Labasa:
Cloudy periods will also visit Labasa, bringing some showers and possible heavy falls. But don’t worry; Monday is bringing back the finer weather, albeit with a few isolated hawking afternoon or evening showers. Remember, cool nights are the theme.
For Savusavu:
Occasional rain, including heavy falls, will make quite the entrance. Monday will see those showers making a return, so keep your umbrella handy. And yes, cool nights are on the horizon.
For Lau/Lomaiviti:
Expect occasional rain with some heavy elements on the side. And, of course, cool nights to snuggle under those blankets!
For Kadavu:
The forecast calls for occasional rain and possible heavy falls, but who doesn’t love a revisit on Monday when occasional showers make a comeback? Cool nights are definitely your thing!
For Rotuma:
The clouds are hanging out, accompanied by moderate east to southeast winds and, you guessed it, some showers. Seas will also play along with moderate to rough conditions. Monday? More clouds and a chance of showers continue the show.
So, whether you’re dodging raindrops or enjoying the breezy nights, stay tuned for more shenanigans from Mother Nature!
