Weather Alert!
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 5:30am on Saturday the 3rd of January 2026

Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A cheeky little trough of low pressure has decided to crash the party and is slinging clouds and showers across eastern Fiji. Meanwhile, the winds are taking a leisurely stroll from the south to the northeast, just like they own the place.

Forecast for Fiji until midnight:
Expect occasional showers and some rather ambitious heavy falls over the Coral Coast, Navua, Greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu area, Ra-Naitasiri, Serua-Namosi, Southern Bua, Cakudrove provinces, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and its smaller islands. If you’re nearby, make sure to pack your raincoat! Elsewhere, it’s looking sunny—at least until those sneaky afternoon or evening showers decide to gatecrash.

Watch out for isolated thunderstorms dropping in with heavy falls, as they could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas. So, if you’re in flood-prone zones, maybe keep those floaties handy!

Winds will be moderate to fresh, giving you a nice breeze, and seas could get a bit rough.

Outlook for Sunday:
Brace yourselves! More of those occasional showers and heavy falls are set to stick around in the usual places. But take heart, other areas will keep it fine—apart from the typical afternoon or evening shower surprise.
