Fiji Weather Update: Heavy Rain Warning Cancelled; Cloudy Periods With Showers Across Fiji and Friday Outlook

Weather Bulletin

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 3:30pm on Wednesday, the 5th of November 2025.

Ladies and gentlemen, put away your umbrellas and pack those rainboots! The heavy rain warning previously keeping a watchful eye on the eastern parts of Viti Levu (hello, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra), plus the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, and our lovable little buddy Kadavu, has been formally canceled. Yes, you heard it right! It’s time to let the sun shine (a little)!

Now, let’s talk about the weather situation. A rather weak trough of low pressure is looking to cozy up to parts of our beautiful islands over the next few days. Don’t worry; it’s not crashing the party too forcefully.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Today: Expect some clouds to make a guest appearance, with showers occasionally showing up uninvited over most places.
Tomorrow: More clouds! They just can’t get enough of the spotlight. Showers are expected over Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu, and the nearby smaller islands. Southern Bua and Cakaudrove may enjoy fine weather—just a few sneaky afternoon or evening showers to keep things interesting. The rest of us are in for some mainly fine weather, so don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen!
Northwesterly winds will be blowing moderate, and the seas are also putting on a moderate display.

Forecast for Friday: Those clouds are sticking around, with showers expected over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, along with the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and those nearby smaller islands. Fear not, fine weather is still trying to make an appearance elsewhere, though watch out for some afternoon thunderstorms—we all know nothing makes the weather more exciting than a little thunder!
