Weather Update
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Hold on to your umbrellas! The heavy rain warning for Lau and Lomaiviti groups has officially packed its bags and left town. But don’t throw away that raincoat just yet; the weather still has a few surprises up its sleeve!
Currently, there’s a weak trough of low pressure over the eastern parts of the country, which is just a fancy way of saying that the clouds are having a little party. And to top it off, we have a nice moist northeast to southeast wind flow, making it a true tropical experience!
Here’s what the weather gods have in store for us until midnight tomorrow across the glorious Fiji islands:
**Today:** Expect cloudy periods and some showers over Lau and Lomaiviti. The rest of you, stay fine, but keep an eye out for those sneaky afternoon or evening showers. Viti Levu and Vanua Levu might even throw in some thrilling thunderstorms with heavy falls; let’s hope they don’t bring their party hats!
**Tomorrow:** The clouds are going to stick around like that one friend who never knows when to leave. Showers will show up over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their smaller island buddies! But fear not, elsewhere should be fine apart from that pesky afternoon or evening shower. Thunderstorms are still heading towards Viti Levu and Vanua Levu to keep things exciting!
Those moderate northeast to southeast winds are also prettily transitioning to a more easterly persuasion from tomorrow onward. Seas, although moderate, might give you a wave or two!
**Wednesday’s Forecast:** More clouds, more showers, and yes, more thunderstorms for Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. So don’t pack your rain boots away just yet!
**For the hotspot districts:**
– **Navua / Suva / Nausori:** Fine today, but those evening storms are eager to make a dramatic entrance. Max: 30°C today; tomorrow, cooling down at night to 22°C, then to a maximum of 29°C.
– **Sigatoka / Coral Coast:** Also fine, with stunning potential for thunderstorms later. Max: 31°C, with a lovely 23°C nighttime dip tomorrow.
– **Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:** Same story here—fine, but expect some stormy company. Max: 31°C today, and don’t forget to tuck in at 23°C tonight!
– **Tavua / Rakiraki:** The sunshine will be lovely until those troublesome storms decide to crash the party. Max: 32°C; get comfy at 23°C overnight.
– **Natadradave / Korovou, Yasawa / Mamanuca:** A glamorous 30°C today but with showers sneaking in—similar to an unexpected cousin visiting during holidays.
– **Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni:** All charmingly fine until the afternoon storms pop up. Max: 32°C in Labasa, and cooler with a maximum of 30°C in Savusavu and Taveuni.
– **Lau and Lomaiviti:** Looking a bit cloudy and wet, but we may see a maximum of 29°C—very cozy.
– **Rotuma:** Enjoying a breezy 32°C with brief showers, tantalizing but not overwhelming as you sip your coconut water!
So buckle up, grab your rain gear, and remain vigilant for those thunderstorms, because Mother Nature is keeping us on our toes!
