Attention weather enthusiasts and rain lovers! It’s time to grab your umbrellas and perhaps a wading pool, because the skies are about to have a little fun.

The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi is keeping us all on our toes with a lingering Heavy Rain Alert for the Northern Division and the Northern Lau Group. Let’s be real—if you were planning a picnic in Lomaiviti or the Southern Lau Groups, you can officially call it off; their alert has canceled faster than your New Year’s resolutions.

What’s on the forecast menu? Well, it looks like a wait-and-see game of clouds and showers. A sneaky little trough of low pressure is drifting down from the northeast, bringing its entourage of clouds and showers just in time to crash your outdoor plans tomorrow.

Tonight, you can expect the cloud cover to step up its game, especially in the Northern Division and Northern Lau Group. Showers will be frequent, turning to full-blown rain, while the rest of the Fiji group just might catch a few brief sprinkles. Over on Eastern Viti Levu, expect those clouds to be a bit more dramatic, too, with thunderstorms possibly making an appearance. Spoiler alert: your afternoon may end up being quite electrifying!

If you’re on the water, watch out! Seas are expected to be moderate to rough—those waves aren’t going to surf themselves!

Now, let’s take a peek at the rest of the week. Thursday promises occasional rain and a few cheeky thunderstorms for our friends in Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and even the smaller islands nearby. It seems like they’re preparing a full-on storm party. So if you’re in Navua, Suva, or Nausori, make sure to bring your raincoat, and maybe this time, don’t forget to wear those sturdy shoes—your flip-flops might just float away!

Here’s the weather breakdown:
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect some cloudy periods, and don’t be surprised if an afternoon or evening thunderstorm pops up to say hello. Max: 30 degrees.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Looks relatively fine, aside from a few unexpected splashdowns in the afternoon. Max: 31 degrees.

And as we venture west to Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Your forecast is practically yelling, “Let’s rain on some parades!” Max: 32 degrees.

All you adventurous souls in Yasawa/Mamanuca group, the skies seem to remain on your side—but do keep an eye out for the odd thunderstorm making its grand entrance. Max: 31 degrees.

So whether you’re planning to dance in the rain or make a run for cover, just know the weather is as unpredictable as a cat on catnip. Stay tuned for further updates, and may the odds of keeping your shoes dry be ever in your favor!
