Weather Update:

Issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 10:45 AM on Monday, March 3, 2025

Hold onto your hats, folks! The strong wind warning for the land areas of western and southern Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu, and our delightful nearby islands has been taken off the “To Do” list. However, if you’re anywhere near the Northern Division and Lau group, don’t put your rain jackets away just yet—welcome to the heavy rain alert!

The situation is looking a bit moody with an active trough of low pressure hanging around, bringing clouds and rain to the northern and eastern parts of the country. This low-pressure system is basically taking its sweet time moving east and may just decide to camp out northeast of us by tomorrow. Meanwhile, we’ve got a wind flow that feels liberating—like a gentle reminder of why we love the breeze.

Now, what’s on the weather menu until midnight tomorrow? Occasional rain served with a side of heavy splashes and maybe a few thunderstorm surprises in the Northern Division and Lau group. Rain is expected to start packing its bags and easing up by tomorrow.

The remaining parts of the country can expect cloudy moments with some cheeky showers—basically, just enough to make you question if you should have worn your flip-flops or those waterproof boots again. Keep an eye out for isolated heavy falls that could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas—definitely not the type of surprise you want on a Monday.

Here’s your friendly neighborhood forecast:

– For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Think partly cloudy with that classic afternoon or evening shower mix. Who doesn’t love a bit of suspense, right?

– For Nadi, Lautoka, & Ba: You guessed it—cloudy periods with some showers. The clouds are really making their presence known.

– For Sigatoka/Coral Coast, Tavua/Rakiraki, and Yasawa/Mamanuca: Yep, more cloudy periods with the usual shoulder-shrugging showers.

– For Labasa and Savusavu: Buckle up for occasional rain, heavy at times! Thunderstorms may add a dramatic flair, but fear not—rain will be gradually easing its hold.

– For the lovely folks in Lau and Lomaiviti: You might want to grab an umbrella to accompany those clouds and occasional rain.

– For Kadavu: A repeat on the cloudy periods with some charming showers.

– And over in Rotuma: A moist northerly wind is bringing fine weather with brief showers. Just the kind of “meh” that calls for relaxing at home.

Outlook for Wednesday is slightly more upbeat—cloudy periods peeking through with some showers. So, keep your spirits high and your umbrellas handy! And remember, every cloud has a silver lining—even if that lining is just an unexpected puddle!
