Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, whipping up on Wednesday night, April 23, 2025!
So, what’s in the forecast stew for our beloved Fiji group until midnight tomorrow? Well, grab your umbrellas and your sunnies as we have a bit of a mixed bag! Expect some fine and dandy weather with only a side of brief showers making a cheeky appearance over the southeast parts of Viti Levu (yes, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori), Southern Bua, Cakaudrove provinces, Lau, Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and those pesky small islands nearby.
Now, if you venture away from the southeast, you’re in luck! The skies should remain mostly clear, except for the possibility of some shy afternoon or evening showers that may decide to sprinkle their presence. And don’t forget about those pesky afternoon thunderstorms in the eastern half of Viti Levu. They might pop their heads up to say hello, particularly in areas like Serua-Namosi and Naitasiri, so keep your weather eye open!
The winds will be moderate and coming from the southeast. As for the seas, moderate there as well – perfect for some splashy fun but maybe not for sailing the seven seas just yet!
Now, what about Friday? That’s when things get a little partly cloudy, with brief showers lurking around Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and those diminutive nearby islands. Elsewhere could remain mostly fine, with the possibility of isolated showers in the afternoon or evening—because the weather can be a real tease!
For our beloved Navua/Suva/Nausori crew, expect a mostly fine day with just a few brief showers trying to crash the party. And the same goes for Sigatoka/Coral Coast, Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, and Tavua/Rakiraki – it’s almost like they’re all on the same wavelength—fine with just a sprinkle of brief showers.
Onward to Natadradave/Korovou, where you can expect fine weather with those strong-willed afternoon thunderstorms making a potential entrance. And for our Yasawa/Mamanuca group, it’s looking sunny with a chance of that sneaky brief shower joining you.
As for Labasa, the forecast calls for fine weather in between possibly lively afternoon thunderstorms. And don’t let the shower surprises catch you off guard in Savusavu! Finally, Lau/Lomaiviti and Kadavu promise a mix of fine skies peppered with brief showers.
Oh, and let’s not forget our friends in Rotuma. They’ve got a slightly different tune—thanks to a slow-moving weak trough bringing in occasional showers and a few isolated thunderstorms. And yes, moderate east to northeasterly winds will be blowing through, while the seas are still keeping it moderate.
In short, whether it’s sunshine or a sprinkle you’re after, Fiji’s weather is here to give you a bit of everything—with the promise of some excitement lurking around the corners!
