Weather Update
Well, folks, gather round because the weather gods have a little mischief planned for us in Fiji! As of our latest intel at 7:30 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, we’re seeing a delightful dance of moist winds from the east-northeast making their way through our beautiful islands. Meanwhile, a sneaky trough of low pressure is heading our way from the southwest, bringing along more clouds and showers than a soggy sponge!
Here’s what you can expect before the clock strikes midnight:
For our lovely crew in Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Ra, Naitasiri, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Taveuni, and the nearby gang of smaller islands, prepare yourselves for a show! Occasional showers will crash the party, and don’t be surprised if a few thunderstorms think it’s a great time to make an appearance with some heavy downpours. Just a friendly reminder: localized heavy rainfall could turn those low-lying areas into your very own water park.
For the rest of Fiji, the sky is letting us have a cloudy day with a few showers thrown into the mix. Expect those afternoon or evening downpours to come with a bang as thunderstorms join the fun. Once again, localized heavy showers may lead to a sudden dip in your backyard – use caution if you tend to wander into flood-prone areas.
As we crank up the heat, temperatures are set to reach a toasty 32-35 degrees Celsius, ensuring we all sweat like we’re in a sauna. The winds? They’ll be moderate from the northeast with a dash of gustiness wherever the thunder plays.
Now for Monday’s forecast – the plot thickens! We’re looking at more occasional rain with a side of thunderstorms spreading over most of the country later on. Expect moderate easterly winds playing a game of musical chairs, shifting gradually to the north, and remember to keep your sea legs ready for moderate to rough waves!
Let’s zoom in on some specific locations:
– Navua/Suva/Nausori: Get ready for those occasional showers and thunderstorms—don’t forget your umbrella!
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: It’s a cloudy day, but those heavy showers and thunderstorms will make sure you know they’re around in the afternoon or evening.

– Tavua/Rakiraki: Keep an eye out as Rakiraki could see some isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls. Fun times!
