Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30pm on Friday, August 8, 2025

Hold onto your hats, folks! A cool, dry southerly wind is sweeping over Fiji—it’s like nature’s way of reminding us that winter is knocking on the door, though it might not be dressed properly. This breeze will soon be throwing a party as it switches to a southeasterly direction tomorrow.

Here’s the scoop on the forecast for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow: Expect fine weather, except for some brief showers crashing the party over the Sigatoka-Coral Coast, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Kadavu, and a few of those adorable little islands nearby. The Lau and Lomaiviti groups, plus Southern Bua and Cakaudrove, will also see some of those pesky pop-up showers. The rest of the group will enjoy a mainly fine day.

Get ready for cool nights, where temperatures will drop low enough for a hot cup of cocoa, or a snuggle with your favorite blanket. We’ve got moderate southerly winds joining us, turning southeast when tomorrow rolls around—just in time for some dramatic wind-in-your-hair moments! And yes, seas will be moderate, so leave the high seas adventures for another day.

Looking ahead to Sunday: Cloudy periods will mingle with showers over Sigatoka-Coral Coast, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and the smaller islands in the vicinity. However, rest assured, the rest will enjoy mainly fine weather. Those cool nights will continue, so bring on the snuggly blankets!

Now, let’s dive into the specifics for various locales:

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Expect a fine day with just a sprinkle of brief showers. Nights will be cool, with temperatures hanging around a comfy 17°C at night and a toasty max of 27°C during the day. Sunday? More clouds and showers on the menu, but still cool nights—17°C min, 27°C max.

Over in Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Mainly fine weather is the theme here, perfect for a sun-soaked adventure. Those cool nights will drop down to 17°C, with a max of 29°C during the day. Sunday looks like a repeat performance—just keep that cool air coming!

Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Expect fine weather with just a touch of brief showers. Cool nights ahead with a low of 17°C and a high of 29°C. Sunday shakes things up slightly with some cloudiness and showers rolling in.

Tavua/Rakiraki: Keep it mainly fine and cool, folks! The forecast suggests a laid-back day with a min of 17°C and max of 29°C. Expect more of the same on Sunday, with those cool nights.

For the Natadradave/Korovou area: Fine apart from some brief showers, and those cool nights will drop to 17°C. Daytime temperatures may reach a jazzed-up 27°C, although Sunday promises cloudier moments alongside those showers.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Fine weather rules the day with cool nights down to 18°C and a day max of 29°C. Sunday? Mostly fine as well—the weather’s clearly dominating the drama here!

Over in Labasa: A sunny wave of fine weather is coming your way. Cool nights drop to 17°C, and the day’s high will stretch up to a sizzling 31°C. Sunday? Just as fin-tastic and fine.

Savusavu: You’re in for a treat with mainly fine weather, only interrupted by brief showers. Those cool nights will allow you to catch some blissful z’s at a min of 19°C, with a max of 28°C tomorrow. Sunday will bring a few extra clouds—a perfect reminder of the adventures ahead!

For Nabouwalu: Just like the others, expect fine weather with some brief showers crashing in. Nights will be cool (19°C), and days will warm up to a pleasant 29°C. Sunday could see cloudy periods with some showers—how predictable!

On Taveuni: Expect brief showers alongside clear skies, with cool nights dropping to 19°C. Daytime will reach a maximum of 28°C but don’t be surprised if the clouds want to join the party on Sunday.

Lau and Lomaiviti Group will also experience fine weather with brief showers making guest appearances, alongside cool nights expecting a low of 19°C. Daytime temperatures will reach a satisfactory 28°C, and expect showers on Sunday to keep things interesting.

Kadavu: Brief showers may pop up, but overall, it’s fine and cool at night with temperatures resting at 19°C and a max of 28°C. Sunday will bring a few clouds and overhead showers, to keep you guessing.

Finally, for Rotuma: a trough of low pressure is stoking up some clouds and occasional rain, which may get heavy with thunderstorms. Expect gusty easterly winds, making it somewhat of a blustery adventure out there! Tomorrow will range from 25°C to a high of 29°C. Sunday will keep things cloudy with showers and isolated thunderstorms. So grab your umbrella!

Keep your spirits high and your rain jackets handy—it’s Fiji weather at its finest!
