Weather Update – Hold Onto Your Umbrellas!

Situation: A rather shy weak trough of low pressure is lounging around the southern Lau group like a cat on a sunny windowsill. Meanwhile, an east to northeast wind flow is having a pleasant time breezing over the Fiji group. Just a heads up—another weak trough, probably feeling a little lonely, is expected to make its entrance from the west starting tomorrow.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Today: Expect some cloud cover throwing shade over the southern Lau group, accompanied by a few showers—like a friend who just won’t stop talking. For the regions of Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lomaiviti, central Lau, Kadavu, Taveuni, Qamea, and Cikobia—things will be sunny with occasional mood swings (brief showers). Elsewhere, it’s looking fine, with just the isolated afternoon or evening shower strutting about.
Tomorrow: Get ready for more clouds, as they roll in with showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and those delightful nearby smaller islands, plus Taveuni, Qamea, and Cikobia. Elsewhere, it’s partly cloudy with a shower popping up randomly like an unexpected guest in the evening. And watch out—afternoon or evening thunderstorms are ready to crash the party over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu!
Expect moderate east to northeast winds, which will soon get adventurous and shift to northeasterly or southwesterly from tomorrow. Moderate seas are also in the mix.
Outlook for Thursday: More clouds and some expected showers over those same areas mentioned earlier. Elsewhere, it’ll be partly cloudy with a sprinkle of isolated showers in the afternoon or evening. And hey, those thunderstorms are still considering making a return appearance!
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Today looks fine with just a dash of brief showers. Tomorrow, the clouds will roll in with more showers.
Outlook for Thursday: Cloudy periods with some showers hang around.
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Get ready for fine weather today, with a side of isolated afternoon or evening showers. Tomorrow, it becomes partly cloudy with similar antics.
Outlook for Thursday: Just another day of partingly cloudy skies and isolated showers.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Enjoy fine weather today, with a sprinkle of isolated afternoon or evening showers. Tomorrow will be a similar story: partly cloudy and playing peek-a-boo with the showers.
Outlook for Thursday: Expect the same delight of partly cloudy skies and isolated showers.
For Tavua/Rakiraki: Fine today aside from a few wayward afternoon or evening showers. Tomorrow, the clouds will show up for a bit of fun.
Outlook for Thursday: More of those sneaky, isolated shower surprises await.
For Natadradave/Korovou: Today remains fine with a brief shower here and there. Tomorrow, the clouds come out to play.
Outlook for Thursday: Clouds linger with some showers expected.
For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Fine today with a smattering of isolated afternoon or evening showers. Tomorrow will treat you to a partly cloudy sky adorned with more isolated showers in the evening.
Outlook for Thursday: Keep your umbrellas handy for those afternoon or evening showers!
For Labasa: Fine today with only the occasional afternoon or evening sprinkle. Tomorrow, expect a partly cloudy mix with more isolated shower fun in the evening.

For Savusavu: Today is fine apart from some brief shower antics. Tomorrow sees clouds creeping in with some likely showers.

For Lau/ Lomaiviti:
Today: Cloudy periods come with some showers, particularly over southern Lau. Elsewhere, it’s just fine apart from brief showers trying to steal the spotlight.

Outlook for Thursday: More clouds are in the forecast along with those recurrent showers.
For Kadavu: Fine weather reigns today apart from brief showers. Tomorrow it’s cloud time again with more showers expected.
Outlook for Thursday: The clouds aren’t done yet; expect more periods of cloudy weather and showers.
For Rotuma: With an easterly wind flow giving you chill vibes, fine weather prevails apart from brief showers trying to take the stage.
Moderate easterly winds are in attendance, along with moderate seas.
