Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, as of 3:30 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Good news, folks! The strong wind warning for the Lau and Lomaiviti groups has been called off – no need to hold onto your hats any longer!
Now, let’s see what’s brewing in the weather pot until midnight tomorrow for the fabulous Fiji group: Expect a modest amount of cloud cover with some showers over Navua, Suva, Nausori, Korovou, Rakiraki, Serua, Namosi, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and their tiny island buddies, as well as Lau and the lovely Lomaiviti islands. Other regions are likely to enjoy fine weather, but don’t forget your umbrella for those sneaky isolated afternoon showers that might decide to drop by uninvited!
Winds will be moderate to fresh from the southeast, and the sea will be giving you a little shake – rough seas ahead! And just in case you were wondering, it might cool down a touch at night, so you might want to grab that cozy blanket before you hit the hay.
Looking ahead to Thursday: It’s a bit of a repeat performance with cloudy periods and brief showers making an appearance over the same areas, while the rest of the group gets to bask in mostly fine weather. The southeast winds will continue to make things interesting, along with moderate to rough seas.
Region updates:
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloudy periods bringing some showers. Don’t forget the night blanket; it’ll be cool!
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Mostly fine, except for a pesky shower or two in the afternoon. And yes, it will be cool at night, just like a chilled coconut.
