Weather Whims for Fiji – May 31, 2025

Greetings, sun lovers and rain dancers! Brace yourselves as we dive into the latest scoop from our weather wizards at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi.

As we slide into tonight and tumble into tomorrow, get ready for a cloudy canvas splattered with showers in the Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, as well as Kadavu and our small island pals. But fear not, fine weather will peep out from behind the clouds in other areas, although you might find yourself dodging an isolated afternoon or evening shower like it’s a leapfrog game.

Nights are shaping up to be cool enough for a cozy sweater – you might want to channel your inner polar bear. Expect moderate to fresh southeast winds that will give your hair that delightful tousled look, and sea conditions that are moderate to rough (perfect for those who enjoy the thrill of a bumpy ride).

Now, what’s cooking for Monday? The forecast is serving up a repeat: more cloudy periods with showers in the usual suspects. But for those living in Sigatoka/Coral Coast, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, you can bask in generally fine weather, with the occasional shower trying to crash your beach party.

If you’re down in Tavua or Rakiraki, enjoy that fine weather too, until the elusive afternoon or evening shower decides to pay you a surprise visit. Meanwhile, for our pals in Natadradave/Korovou and Savusavu, keep those umbrellas handy because showers will be making a special appearance.

Over in the Yasawa/Mamanuca group and Labasa, fine weather reigns supreme, except for those pesky isolated showers that might want to steal the spotlight.

For the lovely folks in Lau, Lomaiviti, and Kadavu, you have a cloudy affair ahead with showers—hopefully, they’re friendly!

Now, let’s not forget Rotuma, where a STRONG WIND WARNING is looming large. Those winds are no joke, swinging at a breezy 20 to 25 knots. Tonight, it’s mainly fine but you might want to keep your boots handy as occasional showers and a thunderstorm are known to crash the party tomorrow.

With that, prepare for a mix of weather wonders and let your SPF and umbrellas be your best friends! Stay tuned tomorrow for the next thrilling episode of Fijian weather updates!
