Weather Alert: Roll out the umbrellas and let’s keep those raincoats handy!

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 2:38 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025:

Brace yourselves, Fiji! It seems the clouds are throwing a little temper tantrum as they roll in with showers especially over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their friendly smaller island buddies! The Lau and Lomaiviti group, along with Kadavu and co., are also in for some of this showery action. The rest of us, however, are lucky enough to enjoy partly cloudy skies—because who doesn’t like a little sunshine with a side of cloud?

Those temperatures are hanging out in the cool zone at night, so grab a sweater, unless you’re planning to cosplay as a chilly penguin! Southeast winds will be strutting their stuff, making things a tad breezy. And for those keen on swimming or surfing, hold onto your hats—seas will be moderate to rough and ready for some adventure!

Outlook for Thursday: The cloudy party doesn’t look like it’s ending just yet; expect more showers in the same places as before. Enjoy the mostly fine weather elsewhere, and fortify your nightcaps because it’s going to be another cool one.

For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Cloud cover and showers will keep things interesting. High hopes for today with a max of 27, but don’t forget your umbrella tomorrow as we’ve got a min of 19 and max of 28 on the way!

For Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: A little shy on the clouds today with a max of 30, but it will still get cool at night. Tomorrow, expect the same, and a very considerate cool night as well!

For Coral Coast/Sigatoka: It’s a cloudy affair with some showers joined by a cool night. Today’s maximum is a pleasant 29, while tomorrow peeks at a min of 18 and max of 30.

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Showers are being a bit clingy over Rakiraki today, but don’t worry, the rest of you get to enjoy mostly fine weather.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Just like a perfect beach day, it’s mainly fine—but our suspicions about nighttime coolness are confirmed!

For Labasa: Still keeping it chill with partly cloudy skies.

For Savusavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, and Kadavu: Prepare for more of those cloudy periods and showers, they’re feeling a bit repetitive!

For Rotuma: The island is experiencing a bit of theatrics from the weather gods, with a trough of low pressure bringing occasional rain and a hint of thunder. It’s cool with a max of 30 today, but keep those rain boots at the ready!

So buckle up, Fiji; it looks like we’ve got a wet and cool ride ahead!
