Situation: Hold onto your raincoats, folks! A feeble trough of low pressure is gearing up to sprinkle some drama over the eastern and southern parts of our beautiful islands, starting later today. Meanwhile, we’ve got an east to southeast wind flow giving us a gentle breeze, but stay tuned because tomorrow it’s going to shift gears to predominantly east to northeast winds. Think of it like your friend who can’t decide what to wear—confusing but entertaining!
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the glorious Fiji group:
Expect cloudy spells with showers engaging in a dance-off over the southeastern parts of Viti Levu (that’s Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, and the scenic interior of Ra), as well as Southern Bua, Cakaudrove provinces, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and its charming little neighbors, Taveuni and Qamea.
In other regions, it’ll be smooth sailing—sunshine galore! Just a heads up for those with afternoon or evening plans: you might see some isolated showers popping up to crash the party.
Now, if you’re in the interior or the western half of Viti Levu (think Ba, Rakiraki, Nadi/Lautoka, and the enchanting interiors of Ra/Ba and interior Nadroga/Navosa), keep your umbrellas handy! The forecast suggests afternoon or evening thunderstorms wanting to spice things up.
Prepare for moderate to fresh east-to-southeast winds, and let’s not forget about our moderate to rough seas—great for shipping but maybe not so much for swimming.
Outlook for Sunday: More cloudy periods and some showers will continue their streak over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove provinces, Kadavu, and the lovely Lau and Lomaiviti groups. The rest of the places can enjoy the sun with the occasional afternoon or evening showers and the lingering chance of an isolated thunderstorm, just to keep things lively!
