Weather Update:

Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi! As we step into Monday, August 11, 2025, it looks like the weather has decided to play a game of “hide and seek” with the sun across the group. An easterly wind is doing its best impression of a gentle breeze today but plans to switch things up by blowing a little more northeasterly soon. Meanwhile, a low-pressure trough is creeping in from the west, bringing with it clouds and showers that are planning a Monday night takeover.

Here’s what you can expect before midnight tomorrow:

For today, expect some cloudy periods and brief showers in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Raitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and other nearby islands, while the rest of the group is enjoying a bright, sunny day—so don’t forget your sunscreen if you’re in the clear! The night will be delightfully cool, perfect for snuggling up with a good book—or, you know, a pet.

Now, onto tomorrow! As the clouds gather for their big performance, folks in the Yasawa and Mamanuca group, and the Northern Division, might just find themselves in the front row for some showers and the occasional thunderstorm. The rest of us will have to make do with cloudy periods and a few brief, albeit unscheduled showers. Expect some northerly winds that may pick up intensity and sea conditions that veer towards the moderate to rough category. So, if you were planning a leisurely boat ride, you might want to rethink that!

Looking ahead to Wednesday: The forecast predicts a star-studded lineup of clouds and a potential for some hefty thunderstorms—so prepare yourselves for a dramatic weather show, as the showers will ease and clear from the west as the day wraps up.

Now, let’s break down the forecast for some of your favorite areas:

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloudy with brief showers today—high of 27. Expect a nighttime cool down! Tomorrow, the temperature dips to a cozy 19, peaking at 27 again. Wednesday’s forecast looks very similar, just with a little extra thunder for dramatic flair.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Today is bringing you mostly sunny vibes with a high of 29. Expect some clouds and possible thunderstorms tomorrow with a low of 19. Wednesday? Same as the previous days—with thunder. You get the point!

For Coral Coast/Sigatoka: A splendid day ahead with a high of 29 amid mostly fine weather—but a gloomy cloud cover is on the way tomorrow, bringing possible thunderstorms. Stay alert!

In Tavua/Rakiraki, enjoy a dazzling day at 30 degrees today, but brace for some clouds and thunderstorms tomorrow. Wednesday’s show is also set for drama with a steady cool night.

For the folks in Labasa, enjoy a glorious day at 31, but thunderstorms are on the guest list for tomorrow as well.

Over in Rotuma, showers and isolated thunderstorms are making their grand entrance, with a high of 31 today but don’t forget your raincoat tomorrow!

So, however you decide to weather the week ahead, just remember: If life gives you clouds, make cloud angels! Stay prepared, stay safe, and may your week be filled with sunshine—eventually!
