Weather Bulletin

Attention, avid weather-watchers! We’ve got a rather moist eastern breeze shimmying its way across the islands as we brace for a low-pressure trough sauntering in from the southwest this Sunday. In layman’s terms: grab that umbrella—it’s about to get interesting!
Forecast until midnight Saturday for the charming islands of Fiji:
In the regions of Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Ra, Naitasiri, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, and some of those enchanting smaller islands, as well as Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau, and Lomaiviti: expect cloudy skies with showers, along with a few late-morning/evening thunderstorms. Isolated heavy downpours may occur, which could send some low-lying areas into a soggy spectacle reminiscent of a water park.
For the rest of Fiji:
You’ll find partly cloudy skies with the option of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms sprinkled in like confetti. Again, isolated heavy falls are on the forecast, so keep your wading boots handy for those flood-prone zones.
The temperatures are staying hot and steamy, likely hovering between a toasty 32-35 degrees Celsius. Just your friendly neighborhood furnace doing what it does best!
East to northeast winds will be blowing moderately, but be cautious—as strong gusts will try to outshine your hat during those thunderstorm moments. Moderate seas are likely too, so don’t expect to do any underwater dancing just yet.
Looking ahead to Sunday:
Occasional rain and a few electric thunderstorms are heading towards the Yasawa Group, northern regions, and the lovely eastern side of Viti Levu. Don’t worry, the rest of Fiji will be partly cloudy with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms popping up like surprise guests at a party! Heavy falls could make things a bit splashy in many areas, so keep your floaties nearby.
Regional highlights for Navua, Suva, and Nausori show cloudy spells with a side of evening thunderstorms.
In Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, it’s a “partly cloudy with a chance of showers” sort of day.
For our friends in Sigatoka and Coral Coast, expect cloudy conditions with some dramatic weather performances in the form of thunderstorms.
Tavua and Rakiraki will see similar cloudy periods and a sprinkle of excitement from those afternoon storms.
The Yasawa and Mamanuca groups are also in for some potential heavy downpours, so make sure your kayak is ready to go.
Labasa may get treated to a few scattered showers and storms, while Savusavu can expect its own set of wet surprises.
Lau and Lomaiviti—clouds, showers, and your usual thunderstorms coming right up!
In beautiful Kadavu, expect a similar mix of cloudy periods, showers, and some thunderclap action.
And last but certainly not least, Rotuma is in for occasional downpours with some thunder to keep things lively.
So there you have it—a tropical soup of weather conditions brewing over Fiji! Stay dry (or at least stylishly soggy) and keep those weather apps handy for updates.
