Fiji Weather: Heavy Rain Warning in Northern and Eastern Divisions and Rotuma with Flash Flood Alert for Low-Lying Areas

Weather Update

Attention all you weather-watchers and rain-dodgers! Here’s the latest scoop from the National Weather Forecasting Centre. As of 10:45 AM today, the 27th of November 2025, we have a heavy rain warning that’s striking hard in the northern and eastern parts of the Fiji Group. So, if you’ve got an umbrella on your shopping list, you might want to grab it sooner rather than later!

Also, there’s a flash flood alert for our friends in the low-lying and flood-prone areas of the northern and eastern division. But the rest of Fiji can breathe a sigh of relief because that alert has been cancelled—confetti, anyone?

Currently, we are under the influence of a mischievous trough of low pressure which seems to be hanging around a bit longer than expected. This little weather wonder is predicted to weaken as the day goes on, but expect occasional rain—heavy at times, accompanied by some isolated thunderstorms to keep things lively, especially over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and the surrounding islands. Think of it as Mother Nature’s way of throwing a surprise party.

As for everyone else, you can expect some clouds with showers in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and some friends nearby. The sunshine should make a guest appearance in other areas, but don’t be surprised if the clouds throw in some afternoon or evening showers just to keep everyone on their toes!

Prepare for a cocktail of weather this Saturday, mixing cloudy periods with some showers and a splash of isolated thunderstorms. That’s right—just when you thought it was safe to put your raincoat away!
