A heavy rain alert is now in force for the entire Fiji group. For more information, refer to the Special Weather Bulletin issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre at https://www.met.gov.fj/alerts/
A strong wind warning previously in force for coastal land areas of Yasawa, Rakiraki, Nabouwalu, Udu Point, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands is now cancelled.
Situation:
A moist east to northeast wind flow is blowing over Fiji. A trough of low pressure is expected to approach from the west, bringing cloud, rain and showers to the group from later tomorrow through to Wednesday.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
– Areas facing cloudy periods with showers: Eastern Macuata and Cakaudrove, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra-Rakiraki, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Isolated heavy falls are possible, and localised heavy falls could cause flash-flooding in low-lying areas.
– Elsewhere: Fine for now, with possible isolated showers in the afternoon or evening.
– Rain and thunderstorms: Developing from the west from later tomorrow and spreading gradually to the rest of the group.
– Winds: Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds.
– Seas: Moderate to rough.
Outlook for Wednesday:
Occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms over most places. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas. Winds: Moderate to fresh north to northwest, gusty at times. Seas: Moderate to rough.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
– Today: Cloudy periods with some showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
– Tomorrow: Min 23, Max 29.
– Outlook Wednesday: Min 24, Max 27.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
– Today: Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
– Today: Max 31.
– Tomorrow: Min 21, Max 31.
– Outlook Wednesday: Min 23, Max 27.
For Sigatoka / Coral Coast:
– Today: Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.
– Today: Max 30.

– Outlook Wednesday: Min 23, Max 27.
For Tavua / Rakiraki:
– Today: Cloudy periods with some showers over Rakiraki. Fine apart from possible isolated afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Rain and thunderstorms developing from later tomorrow.

For Natadradave / Korovou:

– A strong wind warning remains in force for Rotuma waters and is now cancelled for land areas.
– Situation: A moist easterly wind flow prevails over Rotuma. A weak trough of low pressure is expected to affect the island from later today.
– Over waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots, turning northeasterly and easing to 15 to 20 knots from tomorrow.
– Over land: Moderate to fresh easterly winds.
– Seas: Rough, becoming moderate to rough from tomorrow.
– Cloudy periods with some showers.
– Today: Max 31.
– Tomorrow: Min 25, Max 30.
– Outlook Wednesday: Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Min 25, Max 30.
