Buckle up, folks! A southeast wind is sweeping through the Fiji group, while a lazy trough of low pressure is lounging in the southern part, bringing along clouds and showers to the southern and eastern regions. It seems the weather has decided to throw a surprise party with another trough of low pressure, brewing up just north of us and planning to join the fun later today.

Forecast till midnight for the Fiji group:
Expect occasional showers accompanied by isolated thunderstorms—so if you hear the skies rumbling, it could be Mother Nature trying to get your attention! Kadavu and its smaller island buddies won’t escape without a few heavy downpours either, but don’t worry, those will ease into mere showers as the day goes on.

Over in Macuata, Cakaudrove provinces, Lomaiviti, and the rest of Lau group, prepare for a show of clouds with some unexpected fireworks in the form of isolated thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy falls. Think of it as nature’s version of “Surprise! We’re open for business!”

In areas like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Tailevu to Naitasiri-Ra-Rakiraki, we’re looking at cloudy skies with brief showers. If you’re elsewhere, don’t worry, you may only need to grab an umbrella for the occasional afternoon or evening sprinkle—maybe you’ll even catch a rainbow!

Now, let’s talk about the serious stuff: we might see some isolated heavy rainfall later today across the northern division, and it’s got a reputation for causing flash floods in low-lying areas. So, if your street is more of a waterway, it’s time for a swim!

The winds will be medium, transitioning from northeast to southeast tomorrow, and seas will go from moderate to a bit bumpy.

Looking ahead to Wednesday:
More occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms coming up. That’s right, our friend the rain is sticking around, so keep those boats and raincoats at the ready!
