Hold onto your umbrellas folks; it’s going to be a wet and thunderous weekend! A cheeky trough of low pressure is here to sprinkle a bit of mischief across our beautiful islands over the coming days.

So, what’s in store for the Fiji group today? Expect occasional showers to make a guest appearance in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, as well as Kadavu and our charming neighbors in Lau and Lomaiviti. Keep an eye on those clouds—part-time thunderstorms may decide to join the party later, and heavy downpours could lead to some dramatic stories of flash floods in low-lying areas.

For the rest of the islands, enjoy the partly cloudy skies mixed with the occasional rogue shower and a thunderstorm or two. Winds will be a mild southeasterly breeze, while the seas remain moderately choppy—perfect for those who enjoy a bit of thrill on their boat trips!

Looking ahead to Sunday: It’s going to be a tad rainier with the same celebratory thunderstorms crashing the party over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, and friends. Localised heavy rains are in the forecast, so don’t forget to float that boat to higher ground if you’re in a flood-prone area!

In the Navua/Suva/Nausori region, expect occasional showers and some thunderous applause from the skies during the afternoon. You’ll be waking up to a minimum of 24 degrees and feeling the thrill of 29 degrees by midday.

For the Coral Coast residents in Sigatoka, get ready for partly cloudy skies, with isolated showers and a rousing thunderstorm in the forecast; temperatures should be between a cozy 21 to 30 degrees.

For those in Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, it’s pretty much the same weather remix: partly cloudy with a splash of showers and a chance of thunderstorms; the mercury will play around between 22 and 32 degrees.

And let’s not forget about the great folks in Tavua/Rakiraki: the weather will be just as unpredictable, with afternoon showers and maybe some thunder to spice things up. Sunday will bring similar vibes with temperatures ranging from 23 to 31 degrees.

Now, for Yasawa/Mamanuca group, expect the classic island mix: partly cloudy skies, some isolated showers, and a minor possibility of an afternoon thunderstorm; enjoy temperatures from 23 to 33 degrees.

What about Labasa? Partly cloudy with isolated afternoon bursts of showers and maybe a dramatic thunderstorm. Min: 22, Max: 31.

As for Savusavu, it’s sprinkling time again! Keep that umbrella handy as we brace for heavy afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Who doesn’t love the thrill of a good downpour, right? Min: 23, Max: 30.

On the flip side, Rotuma is having slightly different weather fun, with its own southeasterly winds and some cloudy periods, all while enjoying that tropical warmth; expect temperatures from 26 to 32 degrees.

So gear up, stay dry (if you can!), and don’t forget to laugh at the skies—after all, they’re just showing off!
