Weather Whirlwind Update
Gather ’round, weather enthusiasts! Here’s your forecast straight from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, on this fine Thursday morning, October 23, 2025. Buckle up, because we’re diving into a rather soggy situation.
Let’s kick off with the news that a lazy trough of low pressure is hanging out over eastern Fiji, but don’t worry—there’s another one creeping in from the west to join the party! Expect some clouds and rain to pop up until Friday, courtesy of these uninvited guests. So, if you had plans for an outdoor adventure, you might want to pack an umbrella and perhaps a pair of flippers!
Now, let’s check out the forecast for the Fiji group until midnight. We’re talking frequent rain with some famous Fijian thunderstorms visiting Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and nearby islands, as well as the eastern parts of Viti Levu and beyond. The rain will eventually take pity on us and ease to showers later on, but not before making a splash or two!
For those in Navua, Suva, and Nausori: expect the same rain-and-thunder combo (because what’s a gathering without some thunder, right?). It will cool off, with a low of 22 and a high of 28, so it’s a perfect day for cozying up indoors, perhaps with a good book and a cup of something warm if you can find it under the rain!
Meanwhile, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba will experience cloudy spells, with afternoon or evening showers crashing the scene along with isolated heavy downpours. High of 31 and 22 to start: shorts or raincoat? You decide!
Tavua and Rakiraki, you aren’t left out either! You’ll see some thunderstorm action, with the rain drying up by later today. Temperatures are expected to reach 31, so there’s still hope for some sunshine after the storm!
Rounding out our tour, everyone’s favorite island spots of Yasawa and Mamanuca are in for their share of clouds with thunderstorms. Don’t worry, it’s soaking up to a comfortable 30 degrees, so at least you won’t need your winter coat!
On the other hand, Rotuma is looking like a different story. It’s almost serene over there with brief showers, moderate easterly winds, and seas not going rogue—just a 30-degree day full of fine island vibes!
As we look to Friday, it seems the showers will continue, accentuated with occasional thunderstorms and isolated heavy falls across various regions—so prepare for some splashes and a few surprises!
In conclusion, keep that rain gear nearby, stay safe from potential flash floods, and embrace the wet weather like it’s a warm Fijian hug! Happy weather watching, folks!
