Fiji Weather Forecast: Weekend Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms with Possible Heavy Falls Across Southern and Eastern Islands

Weather Bulletin, or The Great Forecast of Fijian Fun

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025

Situation: Welcome to the south-east wind extravaganza! A cheeky little trough of low pressure is planning to make a grand entrance from the south on Saturday, bringing along clouds and showers like an uninvited guest at a party. But don’t worry, the south and east parts of Fiji will be the main stage for this meteorological performance.

Today’s Forecast until midnight:
Expect a delightful mix of sunshine with only brief showers crashing the party over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri and Ra, as well as Kadavu and its tiny island pals, southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their tiny island buddies, not to mention Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Elsewhere? Just fine weather, with only the occasional shy shower appearing in the afternoon or evening. And hold onto your hats because there might be an afternoon or evening thunderstorm rumbling over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

For the sea-goers, expect moderately sized waves—no need to worry about tsunami surfing today!

Saturday Outlook:
Get ready for the occasional shower curtain to drop over Sigatoka to Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and then, bam! Afternoon or evening showers. Oh, and keep an ear out for isolated thunderstorms, because nothing spices up a Saturday like a little thunder and lightning.
