Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi
Issued at 3:30pm on Friday, October 24, 2025
Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A moist easterly wind is strutting its stuff over the country, and a low pressure trough is planning a grand entrance from the north! Grab your raincoats, because it looks like some clouds and showers are about to shake things up in the northern and eastern parts of Fiji this Sunday.
Here’s the forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Expect some cloudy episodes with sporadic showers making a cameo over the interior and eastern parts of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, eastern Taveuni, and those charming nearby smaller islands. The same goes for the interior and eastern regions of Viti Levu (that’s from Serua-Namosi through Navua-Suva-Nausori to Tailevu North), Kadavu and its pocket-sized neighbors, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
Elsewhere, expect intermittent cloud cover with a chance of isolated showers that love to appear in the afternoon or evening. And let’s not forget those isolated thunderstorms—they’re like the surprise guests at a party, always making things more exciting!
Winds will be moderate, with a bit of a fresh breeze now and then, while the seas will be moderate—definitely nothing to worry the fish about.
Now, for the exciting Sunday outlook: Cloudy periods will be accompanied by showers and those surprise thunderstorms, particularly over the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu (from Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi-Naitasiri, and beyond). Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, Kadavu, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups are also in for a splash. Watch out for those heavy falls—although we hope they don’t rain on your parade!
