Sit down and buckle up, folks! A trough of low pressure has decided to throw a party over the northern and eastern parts of Fiji, complete with clouds and showers. What could possibly go wrong?

Here’s what you can expect before the clock strikes midnight:
Occasional showers and those cheeky isolated thunderstorms will be crashing the party across the Northern Division, including Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and those smaller islands you might not have heard of—Cikobia and Qelelevu. Interior and Eastern parts of Viti Levu (that’s the stretch from Serua-Namosi through Navua-Suva-Nausori up to Tailevu North), along with Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, will also find themselves somewhat damp today. Isolated heavy downpours might decide to bless low-lying and flood-prone areas with an uninvited flash flood, so keep your umbrellas handy!

If you’re in the mood for better weather, look elsewhere! There might be some fine periods, but don’t be surprised if those drizzly afternoon or evening showers show up unannounced, along with the occasional thunderstorm.

Let’s not forget about the winds—moderate east to southeast winds will make an appearance, possibly looking a bit fresh at times. The sea might be a bit moody too, fluctuating between moderate to rough.

Now, let’s peek into tomorrow’s crystal ball:
The forecast for Sunday hints at more occasional showers, isolated heavy falls, and those dramatic thunderstorms making a return, especially in the Interior and eastern stretches of Viti Levu as well as Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti—which sounds like a tropical adventure if you ask me! Elsewhere, expect some cloudy moments, with some fickle afternoon or evening showers and the potential for thunderstorms.

A gentle reminder for specific locations:
– For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Occasional showers and guerrilla thunderstorms, Min: 22, Max: 29.
– For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Feeling fine except for those sneaky afternoon or evening showers. Min: 22, Max: 32.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Just fine, with the possibility of showers later in the day, Min: 22, Max: 32.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: It’s all sunshine and rainbows, unless those showers decide to swoop in, Min: 22, Max: 31.
– Natadradave/Korovou: Things are looking showery with a side of thunderstorms, Min: 22, Max: 29.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca group: You’ll find everything just peachy, save for potential evening drizzle, Min: 22, Max: 30.

And on a slightly more tempestuous note:
– For our friends in the Kadavu and Rotuma: Prepare for some occasional heavy showers and the dreaded thunderstorm who’s been crashing the mood, Min: 22, Max: 29 for Kadavu and Min: 24, Max: 30 for Rotuma.

So, whether you’re dancing in the rain or kicking back under a surprisingly sunny sky, make sure you’re prepared for whatever mood the weather decides to throw your way! Stay safe and dry!
