Weather Update

Grab your umbrellas, folks! There’s a trough of low pressure creeping down from the north, and it appears to have an affinity for showers—specifically, the showers over Fiji! Expect it to crash the weather party later tonight, leaving us with a little more moisture than we bargained for. Meanwhile, the east to southeast winds are blowing through, making sure we’re all suitably breezy.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Prepare for some sprinkles and possibly some rogue thunderstorms during the night, especially in the Northern Division (that’s Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and a few shyer neighboring islands like Cikobia and Qelelevu). Starting tonight, things are going to take a wet turn!
For the rest of Viti Levu (think interior and eastern spots like Sigatoka, Korolevu, and Navua), expect cloudy skies punctuated by afternoon or evening showers that might come with a dramatic thunderous soundtrack. Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, you’re also in for occasional downpours—get your raincoat ready!
Everywhere else might see a bit of sun, but don’t be surprised if Mother Nature decides to throw in some isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms too. Isolated heavy falls could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so keep those rain boots handy!
As for wind, expect a moderate breeze from the east to southeast—maybe it’ll blow away your Monday blues. The seas are also feeling the chaos, so prepare for moderate to rough seas.
Monday’s Outlook:
Looks like Monday wants to join in on the wet fun with occasional showers and the possibility of isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms across Viti Levu’s interior and eastern areas, plus Southern Bua and Cakaudrove.
