Weather Update – Get Ready for a Splash!
Hold onto your sun hats, because we’ve got a trough of low pressure sweeping through the Fiji group, bringing along some cloudy buddies and showers to crash the party! As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got a special guest, the moist easterly winds, arriving anytime now.
Here’s the forecast until midnight tomorrow:
Expect sporadic showers with the potential for some drama in the form of heavy downpours and thunderstorms—especially for our friends in Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and the nearby islands, as well as eastern Viti Levu (yes, we’re looking at you, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Naitasiri-Tailevu-Ra). The Lau and Lomaiviti groups aren’t getting off easy either!
If you’re elsewhere in Fiji, keep your umbrellas handy because you can expect cloudy spells followed by the all-too-familiar afternoon or evening showers and maybe a thunderstorm that sounds like nature’s way of saying “surprise!” Just a heads up: if we have prolonged heavy falls, those low-lying areas might see a little too much love from the rain, leading to some flash flooding.
The winds will be moderate to fresh, particularly in the areas of those heavy showers and thunderstorms. The seas will be riding a moderate to rough wave, so perhaps avoid trying to impress anyone with your swimming skills today.
Looking to Tuesday: It seems the clouds are sticking around with some showery charm over eastern Viti Levu and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. While fine weather might come knocking elsewhere, expect those pesky afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms to continue their dramatic entrance. Winds will still be moderately fresh and seas rough, so let’s keep those life jackets close!

For the Navua / Suva / Nausori crew: Occasional showers with a side of heavy falls and thunderstorms. Today’s highs are 28°C, dipping to a cozy 23°C at night. Tuesday’s forecast – cloudy periods and showers, a maximum of 29°C.
Natadradave/Korovou: Same deal – expect occasional showers, maybe a heavy downpour and thunderstorms. Look out for a high of 28°C, dipping to 23°C. Tuesday will serve more clouds and showers at a comfy 29°C.
Sigatoka/Coral Coast, you’re in for some fun with occasional showers and thunderstorms! Today’s high is a sizzling 30°C. On Monday – fine weather with an expected range of 23°C to 30°C.
And for Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Cloudy periods, thunderstorms, and a high of 30°C. Tuesday’s menu includes fine weather, but don’t forget your brolly for those afternoon surprises!
