Weather Update
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 11:37 am on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Alright folks, here’s the scoop: we’ve got a southeast wind flow sweeping through the country, making it feel a bit like a gentle embrace from a well-meaning relative. Meanwhile, a moody trough of low pressure is meandering toward Fiji from the north, promising to enhance those sneaky easterly winds by tomorrow.
So, what’s in store for the fabulous islands of Fiji until midnight tomorrow? Expect cloudy periods with showers popping up like surprise guests at a party in the interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu (think Serua-Namosi through Navua-Suva-Nausori up to Tailevu North), Southern Bua, Cakaudrove including Taveuni and its adorable nooks and crannies, Kadavu and its companions, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Showers will be making occasional appearances, and just for a bit of drama, we’ll throw in some isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm action too! Elsewhere, you might get lucky with some fine weather—just keep your umbrellas handy for those isolated afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms.
We can expect moderate southeast winds, whipping up fresh moments here and there. The seas will be moderate, but you might want to hold onto your hats if you’re venturing out on the water!
Looking ahead to Saturday, the plot thickens with occasional showers and isolated heavy falls making a return, particularly in the same beloved regions mentioned earlier. Elsewhere? More of that fine weather followed by a few charming afternoon or evening showers. Mild southeasterly winds will continue to give us the fresh vibe, and the seas will show off their rough side.
