Weather Bulletin
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 11:00pm on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025
Alright folks, grab your umbrellas and put on your favorite raincoat because it’s about to get interesting! The winds from the north to northeast are blowing through Fiji like they’ve just discovered a new dance move, and they’re not stopping anytime soon. There’s a low pressure trough to the south that seems to have its eyes on us and is planning to drift northward, promising to usher in a moist northwesterly wind. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a rainy adventure starting tomorrow!
Now, for the interior parts of Viti Levu, from Sigatoka to Navua, and all the way to Suva and Korovou: get ready for some cloudy moods with a sprinkle of showers, and yes, isolated thunderstorms might decide to crash the party too. Be on the lookout for localized heavy showers that might turn the area into a mini-water park with flash flooding in low-lying areas. Bring your waders!
The Lau and Lomaiviti groups can expect similar cloudy shenanigans with showers and some thunderstorm appearances. Meanwhile, the rest of the islands will experience mostly fine weather – until the afternoon or evening when those sneaky isolated showers and possible thunderstorms come knocking, wanting to make themselves known.
Later tomorrow, expect rain to start rolling in from the west, spreading out much like that friend who insists on sharing their food with everyone. With moderate to fresh winds shifting to the northwest, it’s going to be interesting to see who can keep their sea legs steady while the seas turn moderate to rough.
Looking ahead to Friday—brace yourselves—occasional rain is set to drench the Western Division, Macuata, Northern Bua province, Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. Heavy falls might even throw themselves in the mix! Elsewhere, those of you enjoying cloudy periods should still find yourselves under the watchful gaze of afternoon or evening thunderstorms, so don’t underestimate those localized heavy falls either!
Here’s a quick peek at your local forecast:
– **Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Expect cloudy conditions with some showers and the obligatory isolated thunderstorms. Flash flooding could wade into the conversation too.
