What’s the weather doing? Well, it’s decided to throw a mini party. An east to northeasterly wind is currently dancing across the Fiji group, but hold onto your hats because a trough of low pressure, armed with some sneaky clouds and showers, is heading our way from the east. Expect it to start making its grand entrance from later Wednesday!

Here’s what to expect for the Fiji group before the clock strikes midnight tomorrow: Think of it as a moody day with cloudy periods, a chance of showers, and some electrifying isolated thunderstorms—especially in the Eastern part of Viti Levu (yes, Greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu North area, you’re not escaping this!). The Southern Bua and Eastern Cakaudrove provinces, Lau, and Lomaiviti group are also invited to this atmospheric shindig.

For the rest of you, just a sprinkle of fine weather, except for some afternoon or evening showers crashing the party. Be mindful, though—local heavy downpours might create their own wet and wild flash floods in low-lying areas, especially in the afternoons. The winds will be moderate to fresh, with gusty surprises during those heavier showers and thunderstorms. And for those planning a swim? The seas are predicted to be moderate to rough, so it might be nice to keep the boat tied up!

Looking towards Wednesday: More of the same cloudy shenanigans, with showers and isolated thunderstorms taking center stage over the Eastern part of Viti Levu and the Lau and Lomaiviti group. Expect those showers to start making their way to the rest of the group later in the day. Hold your horses! It’ll still be partly cloudy elsewhere, but the afternoon and evening could step in with more showers and some ‘surprise’ thunderstorms. Wind forecasts remain in the moderate to fresh category, adding a little flair to our everyday breezes, and the seas? Well, let’s just say they’ll be keeping us on our toes.
