Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, delivered at the perfectly acceptable hour of 7:30 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Here’s the weather scoop for the Fiji group until midnight tomorrow:
Today: It’s looking pretty chic out there with plenty of fine weather strutting its stuff, but don’t be surprised if a few shy showers sneak in over southeastern parts of Viti Levu (yes, that does include the stylish places like Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, and Nausori), as well as Southern Bua and Cakaudrove provinces, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. Kadavu and those tiny stunning islands aren’t left out either! In other areas, mostly fine with just a hint of an afternoon or evening shower trying to crash the party.
Tomorrow: Cloudy periods are planning a takeover over the southeastern parts of Viti Levu (those party spots mentioned earlier) along with showers eager to join the fun. The Southern Bua and Cakaudrove provinces, plus Lau and Lomaiviti, are also in for a splashy forecast. The rest of the island will continue to enjoy fine weather, except for that pesky chance of afternoon or evening showers trying to make a cameo. And keep your eye on the sky – thunderstorms might want to rumble in over the interior and western half of Viti Levu (looking at you, Ba/Ra, Rakiraki, Nadi/Lautoka, Naitasiri, Tailevu, and the interior of Ra/Ba and Nadroga/Navosa).
Breezy today with moderate southeasterly winds, but starting tomorrow, we’ll see that shift into a more frisky east to southeast affair. Seas today are moderate, but hold onto your hats, because they’ll become rougher by tomorrow– might be a good day for your boat to stay tied up!
Looking ahead to Saturday: Expect those clouds to linger with showers popping up in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, and some other charming locales, while elsewhere it’s still fine with potential for those elusive afternoon or evening showers to tiptoe in. Brace yourself for moderate to fresh winds from the east to southeast, and prepare your sea legs for moderate to rough waters.

A weak trough is hanging around, causing showers and isolated thunderstorms to make cameo appearances. Winds and seas are moderate, just like a chill evening breeze.
Looking forward to Saturday: Occasional showers and those sassy isolated thunderstorms keep it interesting!
Stay dry, keep smiling, and don’t forget your umbrella just in case!
