Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! We’ve got a weak trough of low pressure rolling in like a sleepy Sunday morning over the eastern and southern regions of our beautiful islands, starting later today. In the meantime, we’re experiencing an east to southeast wind flow that will be taking a turn toward the northeast come Saturday. Brace yourselves for a breezy adventure!
Forecast for the Fiji group until midnight tonight:
Expect cloudy periods with occasional showers over southeastern spots of Viti Levu, including the wonderful realms of Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, and Tailevu. Meanwhile, Southern Bua and Cakaudrove provinces, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and the nearby tiny islands might also see a few drizzles.
The rest of the islands? Well, it’s looking fine, apart from the possibility of a few sneaky afternoon or evening showers. Thunderstorms could crash the party over the interior and western parts of Viti Levu, particularly Ba/Ra, Rakiraki, Nadi/Lautoka, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Interior Ra/Ba, and Nadroga/Navosa—definitely not your average afternoon barbecue weather!
Winds will be moderate to fresh, giving the trees a good fluffing, and seas will be moderate to rough—perfect for those wanting a natural rollercoaster ride on the waves!
Saturday’s Crystal Ball Gazing:
Get ready for a cloudy day with some showers in Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, Southern Bua, and the delightful Cakaudrove provinces, plus Lau and Lomaiviti groups and our lovely Kadavu and its surrounding islands. Elsewhere, expect fine weather, just a hitch of a chance for a little afternoon or evening sprinkle.
Detailed Forecast Vibes:
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Cloudiness with some friendly showers not wanting to be left out.
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Expect sunny spells, with maybe a fleeting shower or two; nothing a beachgoer can’t handle.
For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: It’s looking fine, but keep an eye out for those cheeky afternoon or evening showers potentially bringing their thunderous friends along for the ride!
For Tavua/Rakiraki: A splash of clouds and showers over Rakiraki, but fine elsewhere.
For Natadradave/Korovou: Just your regular cloudy periods coupled with some friendly showers.
For Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Sunshine, with a chance of those pesky afternoon or evening showers and possibly a thunderstorm—cue the dramatic movie music!
For Labasa: A fine day ahead, with just a sprinkle of evening excitement from possible thunderstorms.
For Savusavu, Lau/Lomaiviti, Kadavu: Cloudy skies and showers, keeping everything lush and green.
For Rotuma: It’s all good here with brief showers and a steady breeze, perfect for lounging around and pretending you’re in a tropical getaway.
