Weather Update: The Great Fiji Forecast!
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi
on a delightfully cloudy Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 10:45 AM.
Today’s Weather Drama: A moody northeasterly wind is making its presence known across the islands, while a rather sluggish trough of low pressure has decided to set up camp just northwest of Fiji, bringing along a cloud party complete with showers and occasional thunderstorm spectacles, primarily for those vacationing in the Yasawa group.
Forecast until Midnight Tomorrow:
For our fun-loving Yasawa crew, expect the sky to shower you occasionally with the gift of rain (heavy at times) and possibly a light show in the form of thunderstorms. Good news for all: these showers will begin to tone down to just brief appearances by tomorrow!
Meanwhile, for those nestled in the interior and eastern parts of Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni’s eastern bits, and the interior of Viti Levu (that’s from Suva up to Tailevu North, Rakiraki, Tavua, and Ba), you’ll see a patchy quilt of clouds, with some rain and the occasional thunder rumbling through the skies.
If you’re in the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, don’t worry; you’re also in for some cloudy fun with a sprinkle of showers and potential thunderstorms.
For those elsewhere, it’s generally cloudy with a dash of afternoon or evening showers and the possibility of bursts of thunder. I hope you brought your umbrellas!
And as for the wind, it’s moderate easterly, while the seas will be moderate too, giving you just enough wave action for your boat rides but not enough to toss you overboard.
Outlook for Tuesday:
Expect more cloud cover, with showers (some could be heavy), and thunderstorms flirting with the interior and eastern Viti Levu, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau, and Lomaiviti. For the rest of the crew, it’s partly cloudy with a potential for some pitter-patter and rumblings in the afternoon or evening.
And remember: those isolated heavy showers could bring a splash of flash flooding in prone areas, so keep an eye on those water levels!
