Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at the bright and early hour of 5:30am on Saturday, July 19, 2025
Situation: Well, folks, a trough of low pressure has decided to camp out over the eastern parts of Fiji but don’t worry—it’s slowly packing its bags and heading east. It might be sticking around just long enough to sprinkle some clouds and showers over parts of the islands until it finally leaves us in peace. Meanwhile, we’re basking in the embrace of a gentle south to southeast breeze—perfect for flying a kite… if that kite doesn’t fly away!
Forecast until midnight for the Fiji group: Prepare for some occasional showers that might just make your outdoor plans a little soggy, especially from Momi through Sigatoka to Serua-Namosi, stretching all the way to Suva. These showers will be easing up later today. Some clouds are also lurking over Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Kadavu, and several smaller islands nearby—much like that one uncle who shows up uninvited to family gatherings.
In the rest of Fiji, we’re looking at fine weather but don’t be too surprised if a cheeky rain cloud pops up this afternoon or evening.
Expect a cooler night as those temperatures dip, and a moderate wind to accompany you to dreamland. The seas are feeling a bit modest today—moderate, that is.
Looking ahead to Sunday: It looks like cloudy periods will again lead to some showers over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and other locales—which means you might want to make a rain check on those outdoor brunch plans. Those heavy showers might just decide to crash the party!
For temperatures, expect a cooler night once again. Those southeast winds will be hanging around, giving you a nice breeze to keep you company.
