Weather Bulletin
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, and oh boy, do we have a mixed bag of weather in store for you! It’s 10:45 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, and let’s just say our island paradise is about to get a bit soggy.
Here’s the scoop: A rather moody trough of low pressure has decided to hang out over the islands, scattering clouds and rain like confetti at a party. So, if you were planning a sun-drenched day at the beach, change those plans and grab your umbrella—because showers and a few sassy thunderstorms are set to crash the scene.
Forecasting straight through to the dose of midnight tomorrow for our Fiji group:
– Prepare for occasional rain and a few dramatic thunderstorms especially over Lau and Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and their tiny island pals. The Northern Division, Yasawa, Mamanuca, and areas like Suva, Navua, and Tailevu aren’t escaping either—the rain will be making its presence known!
– While the torrential downpours may relent a bit as we move into tomorrow, we’re still expecting some hefty showers and, don’t worry, isolated heavy falls might pop up to keep things exciting.
– Over the next few days, it’s cloud city with a side of showers everywhere else. Plus, make sure you’re prepared for some afternoon or evening thunderstorms that could surprise everyone—especially over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
– Localized heavy rain could be prone to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so keep your rubber boots handy!
Now, looking towards Wednesday: Expect showers to be the main guest star, especially over Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and the lovely Yasawa and Mamanuca islands. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms decided they wanted some airtime over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu too.
In specifics for our popular hangouts:
– **Navua, Suva, Nausori**: You’ll enjoy some occasional rain and thunder, with the faithful showers combining forces tomorrow.
– **Nadi, Lautoka, Ba**: Picture some cloudy periods with showers—again, those showers are really committed to sticking around, picking up intensity this afternoon before taking a breather tomorrow.
– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast**: Cloudy spells will bring some showers, and like the others, expect frequent rain this afternoon.
– **Tavua/Rakiraki**: The occasional rain will make an appearance, with some thunder, and those annoying showers sure know how to linger—goodbye sunshine!
– **Yasawa/Mamanuca group**: Rain with some thunder ensuring your chill day is anything but boring, easing to showers over time.
– **Savusavu and Labasa**: Both these spots will see occasional rain and your classic thunderstorm vibes.
– **For Rotuma**: They get a bit of a break with brief showers and moderate easterly winds, but sadly, the cloudiness will also creep in soon.
So, to sum it all up, strap on those rain boots, and maybe trade in your sun hat for a stylish new umbrella! It looks like wet and wild times are ahead—ideal conditions for indoor adventures or cozying up with a hot beverage. Stay safe and dry!
