Alright folks, gather ‘round for today’s forecast! We’ve got a weak trough of low pressure hanging around Fiji like a guest who didn’t get the hint to leave. This moody meteorological phenomenon is here to keep us on our toes with clouds and showers popping up over the next few days.
So, what’s in store for us until midnight tonight across our lovely islands? Expect occasional showers and a few rumbles of thunder over the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and some of those smaller islands just trying to stay dry. The eastern half of Viti Levu, including Serua/Namosi, Navua, all the way to the Nausori and Tailevu North regions, are also in for a drizzle fest.
Cakaudrove and southern Bua can expect some cloudy periods, but it might feel like they are playing peek-a-boo with the sun. Elsewhere? Well, just fine weather—except for those sneaky afternoon or evening showers that love to crash outdoor plans.
Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are looking at the possibility of some electrifying afternoon thunderstorms, meaning you might want to grab your umbrellas and maybe your rain boots—flooding is possible if those showers get a bit too generous!
The winds are feeling moderately easterly today, and those seas are staying moderate too—perfect for a calm day… if the weather cooperates!
Looking ahead to Thursday: The forecast is pretty much a repeat of Wednesday, with occasional rain and some thunder in the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, eastern Viti Levu, and Kadavu area, along with Cakaudrove and southern Bua. So, pack your umbrellas for the ride because those storms just can’t get enough of us!
For specific areas:
– **Navua/Suva/Nausori**: Get ready for occasional showers and possibly some heavy splashes, thanks to isolated thunderstorms.
– **Nadi/Lautoka/Ba**: Just fine, with a chance of afternoon and evening showers—that’s paradise for sun-chasers!
– **Sigatoka/Coral Coast**: Likely to stay fine, but don’t be shocked if some showers and thunderstorms join later.
– **Tavua/Rakiraki**: Cloudy with some showers; thunderstorms could be your unexpected guests in the afternoon.
– **Yasawa/Mamanuca**: Fine but don’t be surprised if a stray shower or thunderstorm slips in uninvited.
– **Labasa**: Mostly fine until the afternoon rambunctiousness of showers and thunderstorms begins.
– **Savusavu**: Cloudy periods with showers, and guess what—afternoon storms could be throwing one heck of a party.
– **Lau/Lomaiviti**: Your forecast says “occasional showers.” Better keep that raincoat handy!
– **Kadavu**: Similar forecast with showers and the cheeky possibility of thunder.
– **Rotuma**: With a fresh easterly wind blowing, expect brief showers. Those seas? Moderate to rough, so keep an eye out if you’re taking to the waves!
