Weather Update

Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, just in time for your midday coffee break on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025.

Here’s the scoop: we’re under the influence of a shy little trough of low pressure that’s decided to hang out over the eastern parts of the country. Think of it as a weather party crasher, bringing along its fluffy clouds and occasional showers until Friday. Meanwhile, we’ve got a southeast wind flowing through, so stay close to your jackets – they’ll be getting some love soon!

Now, let’s break down the forecast for our lovely Fijian islands until midnight tomorrow. Expect a little splatter of showers over places like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and their smaller pals, while the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, as well as Kadavu and its nearby mini-islands, will also join the rain club. The rest of you can enjoy mainly fine weather with nighttime temperatures that might just inspire you to snuggle up.

And just a heads up: prepare for moderate to fresh southeast winds that may make you feel like your hair is auditioning for a role in a soap opera. The seas will also be moderate to rough, so hold on to your hats if you’re heading out!

On to the Friday forecast: Looks like our shy trough is still lingering, draping cloudy periods over the same areas mentioned earlier. However, most other regions will enjoy mainly fine weather. You guessed it: cool nights ahead!
