Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi
Hey there, fellow weather enthusiasts! Buckle up, because it looks like Fiji’s forecast is about to throw a little bit of everything your way.
Currently, we are being serenaded by a lovely northeasterly wind that’s creeping over Fiji. However, a moody trough of low pressure is making its way toward us from the southwest – a classic case of “let’s spice things up a bit.” Expect it to show its face starting tomorrow night.
So here’s what tomorrow has in store for us:
If you’re in Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the nearby islands, get ready for mostly fine weather, but don’t be surprised if a brief shower crashes the party. Elsewhere, you’ll have a mostly sunny disposition with the occasional splash of fame in the form of isolated afternoon or evening showers. And for those in Vanua Levu and the interior of Viti Levu, prepare for a possible encore of afternoon or evening thunderstorms.
As we move into Thursday night, those occasional showers and thunderstorm hits will be rolling in from the west like they own the place, likely leaving us with some hefty downpours. Wind-wise, expect moderate northeasterlies to make their gracious exit and be replaced by lovely northerly breezes – because who doesn’t love a weather remix?
Now, let’s look at the specifics for tomorrow:
For Navua, Suva, and Nausori: Enjoy fine weather, just a few brief showers to keep you on your toes. Tomorrow’s low is a cozy 22°C and a comfy high of 29°C. Friday’s forecast? Well, grab a raincoat as occasional showers and thunderstorms are set to join the fun.
In Sigatoka and Coral Coast: Fine for the first half, with those sneaky isolated showers later. Tomorrow’s temp swings from a cool 21°C to warm 30°C. Expect Friday to bring some light showers and thunder to the party!
Meanwhile, over in Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, it’s fine weather with the usual afternoon and evening sprinkle. Tomorrow’s low will be 21°C and a high of 31°C, while occasional thunderstorms are preparing their entrance on Friday.
For Tavua and Rakiraki, expect a mostly fine day with some showers crashing in at night. Tomorrow, we’re looking at 23°C to 30°C. As for Friday, it’s more of the same with thunderstorms expected – because variety is the spice of weather!
In places like Labasa and Savusavu, you’ll enjoy fine weather with a sprinkle of afternoon showers. Tomorrow’s temps will be between 20°C and 32°C. Friday? Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, so keep your umbrellas handy!
And finally, the Yasawa and Mamanuca group are seeing fine weather and those delightful afternoon showers. Expect low 22°C and high 32°C tomorrow, and a similar trend for Friday with a chance of thunderstorms as well.
For our friends in the Lau and Lomaiviti group, it’s mostly fine with brief showers sprinkled in. Tomorrow will see lows of 21°C and highs around 29°C, but as the weekend approaches, those thunderstorms will make an appearance too.
